About
Arnett Digital is a web development and digital services business I’m building around a pretty simple idea: small businesses shouldn’t need a huge agency just to have a good presence online.
I’ve spent years building websites, side projects, and random things on the internet. Arnett Digital is my attempt to turn those skills into an actual business.
It’s not live yet. I’m still building it, figuring out exactly what I want it to be, and trying very hard not to turn a straightforward web business into seventeen different businesses at once.
The idea
A lot of small businesses don’t need some massive custom software project.
They need a good website.
They need it to stay online, load fast, work on a phone, and actually represent their business well. They might need help showing up locally, keeping things updated, automating repetitive work, or figuring out where newer tools like AI are actually useful instead of just throwing “AI-powered” on everything.
That’s the space I want Arnett Digital to fill.
Useful digital work without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
More than just websites
Web development is the core of it, but I’m building Arnett Digital around the stuff that comes after the website too.
That includes things like hosting and maintenance, local SEO, ongoing updates, automation, and AI tools where they actually solve a problem.
I’m still working out exactly where the boundaries are.
Part of building this has been learning that “I can build that” and “that should be a service I sell” are two very different things.
Building the business
The technical side is only part of this project.
I’m also figuring out pricing, packages, recurring services, client workflows, hosting, maintenance, lead generation, and all the boring operational shit that turns “I make websites” into an actual business.
That’s been a different kind of challenge.
I can spend three hours obsessing over a tiny interaction on a website without thinking twice. Deciding what to charge somebody for that work is somehow harder.
The site
I’m building the Arnett Digital site with Astro, TypeScript, and Node.js.
Performance and maintainability matter a lot here because the site isn’t just another portfolio piece. Eventually it needs to help convince somebody that they can trust me with their own business online.
So I’m treating the site itself as part of the product.
Where it’s at
Arnett Digital is still being built.
The foundation is there, but I’m still refining the site, services, pricing, and the systems behind everything before I consider it properly launched.
I don’t know exactly what it’ll look like a year from now.
That’s part of why I’m building it.
